Job Summary
This nursing leadership position requires the application of the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice. The role involves leading and supporting the nursing team to achieve quality patient outcomes while respecting cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity.
Responsibilities
Leads patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice.
Delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members to achieve quality patient outcomes.
Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources, serving as a leader on the interdisciplinary team.
Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategies appropriate for patients, families, and other disciplines.
Uses data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change to achieve optimal outcomes.
Adapts behavior to patient populations, respecting privacy and adapting communication style.
Performs other related duties as assigned, maintaining involvement in unit and department strategic goals.
Qualifications & Skills
Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to present information clearly to diverse audiences.
Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
Education & Experience
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Work Experience Required: None.
Certifications
Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred: Certification in a clinical specialty area.
Physical Demands
Exerts 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Activities include walking, standing, moving objects, and may involve exposure to blood, body fluids, and communicable diseases.
