Job description
Role Overview:
The RN Resident supports a seamless transition into professional nursing through a comprehensive 12-month residency program.
Key Responsibilities
Perform the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—using evidence-based practices to deliver individualized, high-quality patient care.
Provide patient and family-centered care, respecting cultural diversity and engaging families as care partners.
Coordinate safe, effective care delivery and documentation within an inclusive interdisciplinary team, fostering collaboration and communication.
Participate in performance improvement initiatives, research activities, and shared governance to promote safety and quality outcomes.
Maintain professional growth by completing competency assessments, mandatory education, and serving as a preceptor or mentor to support workforce development.
Uphold legal, ethical, and organizational standards, including adherence to the Georgia Nurse Practice Act, standards of practice, and safety protocols.
Contribute to protocol development and resource management to optimize patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Skills
Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) with valid certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS).
Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, teamwork, communication, and a strong commitment to evidence-based practice.
