The RN Team Lead provides clinical leadership and oversight for patient care delivery while supporting staff development, operational efficiency, and quality outcomes. This role serves as a clinical resource, mentor, and team leader to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care across assigned areas.The RN Team Lead* Serves as a team leader, clinical resource, mentor, and role model for staff.* Provides direct patient care and coordinates care delivery for patients of all ages.* Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.* Leads and mobilizes the care team to support positive patient outcomes.* Facilitates effective communication and resolves operational issues within the work group.* Supports staff development through coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.* Participates in performance evaluations and contributes to development planning.* Assists with staffing, scheduling, and workload distribution to ensure adequate coverage.* Collaborates with leadership on fiscal management, resource allocation, and budget considerations.* Participates in performance improvement, patient satisfaction, and quality initiatives.* Conducts team meetings and promotes a positive, accountable work environment.* Ensures compliance with regulatory, licensure, and accreditation standards.* Communicates effectively with patients, families, staff, and interdisciplinary teams.* Maintains confidentiality and exercises sound judgment in handling sensitive information.* Supports organizational initiatives and adapts to changing priorities.* Responds to staffing needs, including supporting other Carilion facilities as required.# **What We Require:****Education:** Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required.**Experience:** Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience including demonstrated clinical and leadership expertise required.**Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration:** Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required. For Behavioral Health roles, de-escalation training must be completed within the required timeframe. For OB/GYN roles, EFM NCC certification required.**Life Support:** AHA BLS-HCP required. ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.**Other Minimum Qualifications:** Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
