Overview
Registered Nurses deliver care to patients utilizing the nursing process. Nurses collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Nurses effectively interact with patients and significant others, while maintaining the standard of professional nursing. Registered Nurses provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on the application of scientific nursing principles. Due to the broad range of medical conditions they encounter, they must be well-versed in a large variety of health conditions. Registered Nurses have a professional obligation to participate in committee activities, surveys, and improvement initiatives. In addition, Registered Nurses must uphold the standards of the Texas Nurse Practice Act.
Responsibilities
Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients based on nursing science and the nursing process.
Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of patient outcomes.
Interact with patients and significant others in a professional manner while maintaining the standard of professional nursing.
Participate in committee activities, surveys, and improvement initiatives as part of professional obligations.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education : Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing (Diploma, AD)
Minimum Work Experience : No previous work experience
Required Licenses/Certifications : Registered Nurse
CPR-BCLS
ACLS required before completion of orientation
NIH Stroke Scale required before completion of orientation
Required Skills, Knowledge, And Abilities : Input data into computer programs
Designated Driver : No
OSHA Category : 1 - High Risk
Requirements : To be eligible for the Temporary Employment program, you must have a home/permanent address 100 miles from the Hendrick hospital campus at which they will be working, and an average of at least 85 miles away from all three campuses.
The Temporary Employee is scheduled to work for a minimum of thirty-six (36) hours per week
