Road Maintenance WorkerMohave County Public Works - Roads Division is looking to fill the position of Road Maintenance Worker. We are located at 9910 Vanderslice Road, Mohave Valley, AZ. Our mission is to construct and maintain county roads accepted by the Mohave County Board of Supervisors as county highways, regularly maintained roads, or tertiary maintained roads, and to provide a safe and economical transportation system for the citizens of Mohave County.Road maintenance starts in Kingman, AZ and goes all the way up to the Northern Arizona Strip. Road Maintenance Worker -> Starting salary Range 10 Step 1-8, $18.22 - $22.41/hr. Work 4 ten-hour shifts. Monday-Thursday 5:00am-3:30pm (summer hours) Monday-Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm (winter hours) Occasional overtime for callouts due to assisting Sheriff's Office with traffic closures and weather-related events. Travel is occasional to assist crews in other areas of Mohave County. County will cover room costs and per diem if situation requires overnight stay(s).Work does require traveling throughout the county while operating a county vehicle in adverse traffic conditions, weather, terrain, and altitudes ranging anywhere from 541 feet to up approximately 8,500 feet. Work outdoors performing moderate to strenuous manual labor in varying weather conditions, including strong winds, extreme heat, and extreme cold temperatures. Involves exposure to exhaust and chemical fumes, oil, grease, hazardous materials, and loud noises from equipment. The ability to frequently be able to move and/or lift 25lbs up to 100lbs or more while operating heavy equipment. This position requires an equal amount of time spent standing, walking, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting, bending, climbing ladders, and confined spaces.Some of the "maintenance tasks" include, but not limited to: Pothole repair, Crack sealing, Chip sealing, Shoulder maintenance, Construction maintenance, Dirt road grading, Soil stabilization, Sweeping, Culvert and cattle guard cleanup, Guardrail repair, Right-of-Way weed control, Snow removal.Proud to offer:Paid Time Off (PTO)39 hours of PTO front loadedOpportunities for growth and development within Mohave CountyLow-cost, high-value healthcare for you and your qualifying dependentsEnrollment in Arizona State Retirement System11 Paid HolidaysPerform work with a greater purposeMust pass pre-employment background screening.
