Ciorba Group's Crown Point office is our gateway to the Indiana market, strategically positioned to serve INDOT, northwest Indiana counties, and communities along the Illinois-Indiana corridor. It's a growing practice with real runway, and the people here play an outsized role in shaping where it goes. Ciorba Group is an employee-owned (ESOP) engineering firm with offices in Chicago, Peoria, and Crown Point. We deliver roadway, structural, water resources, electrical and lighting, and construction engineering solutions for DOTs, counties, and municipalities across the Midwest. An Engineer IV may work on several projects at one time. Tasks performed require broad knowledge of fundamentals relating to design and/or construction while under some direction, but no immediate supervision is needed, as typically required for a licensed professional. An Engineer IV may be assigned to develop preliminary engineering studies and reports on parts of those, prepare design plans and specifications, and lead field inspections.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the quality of their work as well as assigned staff and meeting the budgeted and scheduled timeframe to complete an assignment.
Make calculations and run models necessary to perform assignments in a format that can easily be checked by others.
Coordinate through verbal and written communication the work of other team members, other consultants, and with the client.
Supervise the work of other team members under their direction.
Maintain proper filing, calculations, documentation, and drawing conventions/standards as established by Ciorba Group.
Perform a thorough review of own and others’ work before turning in assignment to supervisor.
Design work in MicroStation, Open Roads, and other software.
Mentor staff engineers.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from accredited school
6-10 years of roadway design experience
Indiana PE
Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) software
Excellent organizational and time management abilities
Demonstrated leadership and teamwork abilities
Experience on Indiana DOT projects a plus
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
