Factors that may be used to determine rate of pay include specific skills, work location, work experience and other individualized factorsJOB SUMMARY: A router is responsible for fielding incoming calls from drivers and customer service. Gathers and records delivery time information and delivery status on selected accounts. Routes orders for next day deliveries, along with assisting with other functions required of the transportation department.RESPONSIBILITIESAdminister the routing system by manually routing orders using RoadNet.Performing maintenance on the routing system.Set up new accounts for the routing system.Prints and sorts pick tickets for distribution to shippers.Preforms dispatching functions.Reconciles driver manifest.QUALIFICATIONS EducationHigh School or GED.ExperienceMinimum of 3 years' experience in a transportation/warehouse environment.Professional SkillsKnowledge of delivery areas.Good communication skillsAbility to multi-taskDetail-orientedMust be able to use a computer terminal effectively, as well as other office equipment.Physical DemandRegularly required to talk and hear.Ability to sit for extended periods.Must be able to perform data entry functions continuously.DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY Most important decisions made fully independently:Routing of orders and trucks.Most important decisions made with review and approval of other individuals or supervisors (include the reviews/approvals required):All work regularly reviewed by the supervisor and manager.BENEFITS INFORMATION: For information on Sysco's Benefits, please visit SyscoBenefits.comOVERVIEW: Sysco is the global leader in foodservice distribution.
