Job description
Link RV Center is looking for an RV Technician to join our growing team! If you have interest in the RV industry and want to get involved, now is your chance. Link RV Center has opportunities for an RV Technician to grow and succeed in this position.
nPay: $18.00 to $28.00 per hour based on experience
nFull Time, 40 to 45 hours a week.
nMonday through Saturday. Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm. One Saturday per month during RV Season.
nMinimum Requirements
nnnEducation: Certificate or Diploma beyond High School.
n
nnPrior RV repair training or experience
n
nnPrior technical experience in electrical, plumbing, or carpentry preferred
n
nnExperience working in an RV Dealership environment is preferred.
n
nnRVDA/RVIA CERTIFICATION a plus
n
nnSelf Motivated
n
nnAbility to multitask and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
n
nnReliable and strong work ethic.
n
nnValid driver's license required
n
n nDuties and Responsibilities of the Job:
nDiagnose, inspect, adjust, repair, or overhaul recreational vehicles including travel trailers. May specialize in maintaining gas, electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, or chassis/towing systems as well as repairing generators, appliances, and interior components. Includes workers who perform customized van conversions.
nRV Techs are responsible for servicing new and used RV's. They do service the chassis and engines in addition to interior, exterior, electrical, and plumbing repairs.
nThe RV Technicians will be responsible for the following:
nnnCommunicating with customers, reading work orders, and examining vehicles needing repair in order to determine the nature and extent of damage.
n
nnRepairing and installing RV satellite systems, electrical systems, backup systems, awnings and interior cabinetry and counter tops.
n
nnRepairing and adjusting slide-outs.
n
nnRepair of generator systems, roof mounted air conditioning units, propane systems, water systems and plumbing.
n
nnExamining or testing the operation of parts or systems that have been repaired to ensure completeness of repairs.
n
nnConfer with customers, read work orders, or examine vehicles needing repair to determine the nature and extent of damage.
n
nnConnect electrical systems to outside power sources and activate switches to test the operation of appliances or light fixtures.
n
nnConnect water hoses to inlet pipes of plumbing systems and test operation of toilets or sinks.
n
nnExamine or test operation of parts or systems to ensure completeness of repairs.
n
nnInspect recreational vehicles to diagnose problems and perform necessary adjustment, repair, or overhaul.
n
nnList parts needed, estimate costs, and plan work procedures, using parts lists, technical manuals, or diagrams.
n
nnLocate and repair frayed wiring, broken connections, or incorrect wiring, using ohmmeters, soldering irons, tape, or hand tools.
n
nnOpen and close doors, windows, or drawers to test their operation, trimming edges to fit, as necessary.
n
nnRefinish wood surfaces on cabinets, doors, moldings, or floors, using power sanders, putty, spray equipment, brushes, paints, or varnishes.
n
nnRemove damaged exterior panels and repair and replace structural frame members.
n
nnRepair leaks with caulking compound or replace pipes, using pipe wrenches.
n
nnRepair plumbing or propane gas lines, using caulking compounds and plastic or copper pipe.
n
nnReset hardware, using chisels, mallets, and screwdrivers.
n
nnSeal open sides of modular units to prepare them for shipment, using polyethylene sheets, nails, and hammers.
