Safety CompanionJob Description: Summary: The Safety Companion shall provide support services to the nursing unit under the supervision of a RN. The Safety Companion is responsible for direct observation of an assigned patient and ensuring patient safety at all times. The Safety Companion, on occasion, when not accompanying a patient, may be responsible for transporting supplies and equipment, routine housekeeping duties, and report to nursing any issues regarding patient care. The Safety Companion will follow nursing department and hospital policies and procedures, including guidelines for the role of the Safety Companion.
