A leading general contractor is looking to hire a Safety Director in Houston, TX. Working with cross-functional teams you will be responsible for ensuring safety excellence across their multitude of projects throughout the Texas region. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an industry leader, where you will be given the platform to flourish in the role.
The Role:
Take ownership of the safety program for the region. Identifying areas for growth, continuous improvement and reporting back leadership to ensure a best in class safety culture
Act as the SME for all safety matters across all the company projects within the region. Advising key stakeholders on compliance and legal requirements
Lead and mentor a team of safety professionals working throughout the region
Partner with cross-functional teams, embedding safety into the all stages of a project lifecycle
Keep up to date with any legislation changes to ensure the organization is compliant with all local, state and federal requirements.
The Candidate:
A minimum of 7-10 years leadership experience working in construction safety
Proven experience managing a regional safety program and direct reports within the construction industry
Bachelors Degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Quality or related discipline (preferred)
Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders, across all business levels
Lives locally in Houston and able to travel as required (circa. 40%-50%)
