Sales Manager
Location: Rockland County, NY
Base salary range: $115,000 – $120,000 annually
Position Overview
We are seeking a driven, strategic, and results-oriented Sales Manager to lead sales initiatives and drive revenue growth across retail, club, and foodservice channels. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, expanding market presence, managing key customer relationships, and leading a high-performing sales team.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Growth
Develop and execute short- and long-term sales plans to achieve revenue and market share objectives.
Identify and pursue opportunities within retail, club, foodservice, and emerging sales channels.
Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to inform sales strategies.
Revenue Generation
Manage the entire sales cycle, from prospecting and lead generation to contract negotiation and account management.
Drive sales growth through national, regional, and local account development.
Develop strategies to maximize product placement and distribution opportunities.
Customer & Account Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers, category managers, distributors, and key decision-makers.
Negotiate pricing, promotions, and merchandising programs to support business objectives.
Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and account retention.
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, mentor, and develop a sales team and external broker network.
Establish performance metrics and accountability standards.
Foster a collaborative and results-driven sales culture.
Forecasting & Financial Management
Develop and manage sales budgets, forecasts, and performance reports.
Monitor sales performance against goals and implement corrective actions as needed.
Utilize data and analytics to support strategic decision-making.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with marketing, operations, supply chain, and executive leadership to align business objectives and market strategies.
Support product launches, promotional activities, and strategic growth initiatives.
Industry Representation
Represent the organization at trade shows, industry conferences, customer meetings, and networking events.
Build brand awareness and strengthen industry relationships.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
5–7 years of progressive sales experience, including 3–5 years in a sales leadership role.
Experience within the food, consumer packaged goods (CPG), grocery, foodservice, frozen foods, or related industries preferred.
Proven success managing national and regional accounts and driving revenue growth.
Experience leading and developing high-performing sales teams and broker relationships.
Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/sales reporting systems.
Strong analytical, forecasting, and budgeting capabilities.
