Sales Operations SpecialistThe Sales Operations Specialist at Vantage Mobility is a cross-functional role supporting profitable sales growth through vehicle acquisition, inventory management, data analytics, and continuous process improvement. This role uses sales, inventory, and market data to guide vehicle purchasing decisions, improve inventory quality and velocity, and increase the efficiency of the sales organization. The Sales Operations Specialist combines strategic analytical skills with automotive market knowledge and a process-improvement mindset to help the company buy the right vehicles at the right cost.Essential FunctionsSupport acquisition of new and used vehicle inventory through auctions, wholesalers, fleet sources, dealer networks, and private-party channels, based on sales demand and profitability targetsMonitor wholesale and retail market conditions to identify changes in vehicle values, availability, pricing, and demand; negotiate vehicle purchases consistent with inventory specifications and financial targetsDevelop and maintain relationships with vehicle suppliers, auction partners, dealers, and fleet operators, and maintain accurate records of vehicle evaluations, purchase decisions, and acquisition costsMonitor inventory levels, aging, mix, cost, and sales velocity to ensure inventory supports current and anticipated sales demandIdentify aging, overvalued, or slow-moving inventory and recommend corrective actions; support inventory forecasting and replenishment strategies using sales trends and market intelligenceDevelop reporting that gives leadership visibility into inventory health, turns, aging, availability, and acquisition costDevelop and maintain sales and inventory databases, reporting processes, dashboards, and analytical toolsCollect, validate, and analyze sales, inventory, and market data; maintain data integrity and translate findings into actionable recommendations for leadershipApply Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies to analyze sales and inventory processes, identify inefficiencies, and develop standardized proceduresCoordinate cross-functional resources to execute sales operations and continuous improvement projects, defining scope, objectives, and timelinesRequired QualificationsEducation or Experience in automotive sales, vehicle acquisition, inventory management, or sales operationsRequired certifications or licenses: None requiredPreferred QualificationsLean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or demonstrated experience applying Lean/Six Sigma methodologiesExperience with automotive auctions, wholesale vehicle sourcing, fleet purchasing, or vehicle remarketingExperience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or similar data analytics tools, and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data modeling)Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial, sales, inventory, and market dataStrong negotiation and vendor relationship management skillsAbility to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environmentHigh level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detailStrong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work effectively across Sales, Finance, Operations, and MarketingStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office applications; experience with web-based automotive valuation, auction, inventory, CRM, or business intelligence platformsKey Performance IndicatorsPerformance may be measured through:Vehicle acquisition volume, quality, and cost performanceAcquisition cost versus market valueInventory aging, turns, mix, and forecast accuracyUsed vehicle gross margin performanceSales and inventory data accuracyReporting accuracy and timelinessQuality and business impact of analytical recommendationsProcess cycle-time improvement and reduction in errors or reworkCompletion, timeliness, and measurable impact of continuous improvement projectsPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation.Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periodsAbility to communicate by phone, video conference, and in personAbility to travel locally and, occasionally, nationally to vehicle auctions, suppliers, dealers, or company locations, and to inspect or evaluate vehicles as requiredWork EnvironmentWork is performed primarily in an office environment, with occasional travel to vehicle auctions, dealer locations, or supplier sites.Safety-Sensitive PositionThis position is not designated as safety-sensitive.Equal Employment Opportunity StatementAt Vantage Mobility, our mission is Providing Freedom Without Limits.
