POSITION OVERVIEW
We're looking for a hands-on people manager with a strong sales background to lead a small team at Gettysburg Flag Works. As a working manager, you will respond to customer inquiries, manage complex custom orders, mentor your team, set a positive team culture, and drive sales growth by ensuring leads and opportunities are effectively converted into business.
If you enjoy building customer relationships and are ready to step into a leadership role without stepping away from operational sales work, this position is for you.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a working manager, your day-to-day will be a dynamic mix of managing your own customer pipeline while actively guiding and supporting the sales team.
Manage the Full Sales Cycle: Respond to inbound quote requests, guide clients through custom projects, and build ongoing relationships with key accounts.
Lead by Example: Work directly alongside your team, demonstrating best practices in customer service, quoting, and troubleshooting complex orders.
Coach & Develop: Conduct regular 1-on-1s, mentor staff on product knowledge, and provide support when team members encounter difficult customer situations.
Oversee Team Performance: Regularly review open leads and quote pipelines to ensure inquiries are handled promptly and no opportunities fall through the cracks.
Drive Process Improvements: Monitor sales metrics and CRM data to identify trends, reporting on team performance to management and recommending strategic adjustments.
Collaborate Across Departments: Coordinate seamlessly with our design, production, and fulfillment teams to resolve delays and ensure smooth, accurate order handoffs.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Requirements
3+ years in customer-facing roles (sales, customer service, inside sales, or project coordination).
1+ years of team leadership, mentoring, or supervision experience.
Strong comfort level with CRM software, pipeline management, and professional communication.
Ability to seamlessly juggle your own orders while actively supporting a team.
A solutions-oriented mindset with the patience to troubleshoot when things don't go smoothly.
Preferred Skills & Traits
Background in custom/made-to-order products, printing, or promotional industries (Experience with sales management systems is a plus).
A coaching mentality: you prefer to lead by example and genuinely want to help your team succeed.
Highly detail-oriented and comfortable navigating ambiguity, changing priorities, and tight deadlines without losing your cool.
A track record of building or improving team culture.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Competitive Salary: Salaried position with performance-based growth bonuses and incentives.
Paid Vacation: Starting at 10 days (accessible after a standard 90-day probationary period), increasing with tenure.
