Sanitation AssociateThe Sanitation Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment throughout the warehouse and surrounding areas. This role includes performing scheduled sanitation duties, operating cleaning equipment, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards. The Sanitation Associate plays a vital role in supporting workplace safety and operational efficiency in a high-volume logistics center.Pay Rate: $15.75 per hour + $1.50 Shift diffSchedule: 4th Shift Thurs - Sun 4AM-2PMEssential Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesFollow established sanitation and cleaning schedules for the logistics center.Sweep, mop, dust, and clean designated warehouse and office areas.Remove trash, recyclables, and debris in compliance with facility standards.Maintain restrooms, breakrooms, and other employee common areas.Equipment & Supply ManagementSafely operate sanitation and maintenance equipment (e.g., floor scrubbers, trash compactors, EPJ).Monitor and replenish sanitation supplies and materials as needed.Inspect cleaning tools and equipment for safe operation and report issues promptly.Safety & ComplianceComply with company safety and sanitation standards, including OSHA and customer requirements.Properly handle cleaning chemicals and follow Hazard Communication (HazCom) standards.Support audits and inspections by ensuring sanitation areas meet compliance expectations.General Maintenance SupportAssist with light facility maintenance tasks as directed.Report damages, spills, or unsafe conditions to management immediately.Support warehouse operations through additional cleaning or maintenance duties during peak periods.Perform other related job duties as assigned or required.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED Equivalent – or equivalent relevant experience.Basic math and reading skills.Comfort working at elevations up to 25 feet, when required.Ability to follow oral and written instructions.Experience using basic tools and equipment.Preferred QualificationsPrior experience in sanitation, janitorial, or warehouse environments.Familiarity with warehouse operations in a 3PL or distribution environment.Physical RequirementsStand and/or walk for extended periods (up to 10 hours, depending on shift)Sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as neededClimb stairs, ladders, and/or scaffolds at various heights including ground-level and racking zones frequentlyReach with hands and arms overhead and below waist levelLift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 poundsOccasionally lift heavier items with or without assistanceUse fine motor skills/manual dexterity to operate equipment, tools, or keyboardsFrequently use hands and fingers to handle, grasp, or control objectsSee clearly at close range and at distance, with peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focusHear and understand verbal instructions, alarms, and equipment signals in a noisy environmentWork EnvironmentVarying temperatures, including but not limited to refrigerated or non-climate-controlled areasLoud noise levels, such as machinery, forklifts, and conveyor systemsDust, odors, and airborne particlesConcrete flooring and moving mechanical equipmentFrequent exposure to powered industrial vehicles and warehouse trafficThe employee is required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and high-visibility vests.Location/Remote EligibilityThis role may be performed on-site only.ScheduleWork hours may vary by shift assignment and may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime based on business needs.Reasonable AccommodationThis job description sets forth the essential job duties and responsibilities for the position.
