Job description

Sanitation AssociateThe Sanitation Associate is an on-site position that requires regular attendance at the facility. This role is responsible for general custodial care of the facility and sanitation activities of the warehouse under general supervision. The Sanitation Associate will perform all duties safely, accurately, and meet all set productivity goals. Technicians are responsible for cleaning an industrial kitchen and food processing facility. This position requires workers to perform any combination of the following tasks to maintain sanitary work area of food production facility: cleaning of floor of production area by removing garbage, moving floor mats, picking up food items, and tearing empty cardboard boxes, handling dishes from kitchen.Duties Include but are not limited to:Perform all custodial duties throughout the entire facility which includes dusting, sweeping, washing, wiping, scrubbing, shoveling, and mopping. Often required to climb ladders to perform these dutiesPre-rinse, wash, and sanitize equipment according to company standardsMaintain sanitary conditions in the facility to include collection and disposal of all warehouse and facility trash or debris daily and clean up all spillsOversee and assist with removal of compost throughout the dayComprehension of Approved Chemicals and SDS SheetsEnsures entire plant is clean, sanitized and free of all product residue and debrisStrive to prevent accidents by following proper chemical and workplace safety practicesReport on all equipment issues to MaintenanceClean cooler and cooler floor sweeps and mops coolers, dry warehouse, all aisles, and the equipment mezzanine including slot cleaningScrub floors in aisle areas of the dry warehouse, cooler areas, and docksPreserve floor care using power equipment in assigned areasMaintain parking lots and front sidewalks every week or as needed to maintain appearanceRemove trash or other property damaging elementsComplete daily sanitation log to provide documentation for the planning and evaluation of sanitation activitiesDust and vacuum warehouse racksClean any/all restrooms when needed to maintain sanitary conditions. This includes the cleaning of urinals, toilets, sinks, counters and countertops, mirrors, sweeping and mopping of floors, and restocking paper dispensersResponsible for the neatness and cleanliness of assigned work areas and travel aislesMaintain the accuracy of warehouse product locations when performing slot cleaningReport to the supervisor immediately any unfixable/unsafe issuesObserve and enforce all safety rules to reduce accidents and injuriesOperate appropriate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks in a safe and orderly manner to reduce accidents and injuriesEnsure that material handling equipment is maintained (inspected daily) and clean, report repair or service needs to supervisor to reduce equipment damageUnderstand and comply with all applicable company policies (i.e., attendance, Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, Associate Handbook, etc.)Complies with all applicable State/Federal laws, regulations, and policies (i.e., OSHA, HACCP, AIB, etc.)QualificationsDesired Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experienceMust be able to lift, up to 50 lbsMust be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift throughout shiftAbility to learn, understands, and consistently follows sanitation procedures and methodsMust have schedule flexibility and be available for overtime and weekends. Can work overtime to meet production and sanitation deadlinesMust be able to work with minimal supervision
