Job description
1st Shift Sanitation Technicians NeededThis entry-level Sanitation Technician role focuses on industrial cleaning and sanitation within a production environment. You will clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, and machinery, follow established safety and sanitation protocols, and support overall facility cleanliness to help maintain a safe and compliant operation. The position follows a Sunday through Wednesday schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch and includes participation in an on-call rotation.ResponsibilitiesClean and sanitize equipment, utensils, and machinery used in production areas according to established protocols.Use appropriate cleaning agents, equipment, and techniques in line with health and safety standards.Adhere to and promote all safety policies within the work area, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).Ensure proper handling, segregation, and disposal of waste materials according to procedures.Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify areas that require sanitation attention and corrective action.Record and maintain accurate sanitation logs, checklists, and related documentation.Collaborate with the quality control team to help prevent cross-contamination and support food safety standards.Participate in regular training sessions on safety, quality assurance, and new sanitation procedures.Perform general labor tasks related to industrial cleaning, including lifting and moving materials as needed.Work outdoors when required to complete sanitation or cleaning tasks in external areas.Work at heights using appropriate equipment and safety measures when cleaning elevated structures or machinery.Carry out very physical labor, including standing, bending, kneeling, and working in various environmental conditions for extended periods.Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to sanitation or cleaning needs outside of standard hours, as required.Essential SkillsEntry-level industrial cleaning or sanitation background, preferably in an industrial or food production environment.Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their proper storage, handling, and usage methods.Familiarity with standard cleaning equipment such as scrubbers, pressure washers, and foamers.Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).Physical stamina and ability to stand, bend, kneel, lift, and perform very physical labor in various environmental conditions.Ability to work outside and at heights while following safety protocols.Ability to read and understand safety data sheets (SDS) and equipment manuals.Industrial janitorial experience or equivalent experience in a similar role.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience in an industrial or food production sanitation role preferred but not mandatory.Experience maintaining sanitation logs, checklists, or other compliance documentation.Comfort working with personal protective equipment (PPE) and following strict safety guidelines.Willingness to participate in ongoing training related to safety, quality, and sanitation procedures.Flexibility to participate in an on-call rotation to support operational needs.Why Work Here?You will join a team that values safety, reliability, and thorough training, giving you the support you need to succeed in an industrial environment. The environment may include wet surfaces, varying temperatures, and exposure to noise typical of industrial and production settings. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and must be worn as directed to ensure safety while performing all sanitation and cleaning tasks.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dayton, OH.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
