With more than 90 large-platform industrial-grade 3D printing machines and a national footprint with more than 500,000 square feet of manufacturing capacity across 12 facilities, Fathom seamlessly blends in-house capabilities across plastic and metal additive technologies, CNC machining, injection molding & tooling, urethane casting, sheet metal fabrication, and design and engineering.The Saw Operator is responsible for the setup and operation of Amada and other sawing equipment—including cold saws, bandsaws, and hot saws—to cut raw materials to specification in support of production. This role also encompasses receiving and organizing incoming materials, performing routine equipment maintenance, and ensuring cut stock is accurately accounted for in the ERP system. By maintaining strong attention to detail and safe work practices, the Saw Operator ensures the shop floor has the right material, in the right quantities, ready for machining.This position is well-suited for a detail-oriented individual with a basic knowledge of metals and plastics who takes pride in accuracy, organization, and keeping production moving. The Saw Operator works closely with the Warehouse, Production, and Quality teams and reports to the Shop Supervisor.Key Responsibilities:Saw Setup & OperationSet up and operate Amada saws, cold saws, bandsaws, and hot saws to cut raw materials per job requirementsMonitor and inspect parts throughout the sawing process to ensure dimensional accuracy and cut qualityPerform inspections using manual gauges and instruments to verify material dimensionsSelect appropriate blades, feeds, and speeds based on material type (aluminum, stainless steel, plastics)Material Receiving & OrganizationReceive incoming raw materials, verify quantities and descriptions against purchase orders, and account for material in the ERP systemOrganize and store received materials in designated locations, maintaining a clean and orderly material staging areaOperate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, stage, and store raw stock safelyEquipment MaintenancePerform routine maintenance on sawing equipment, including blade changes, lubrication, and cleaningMonitor equipment condition and report issues requiring repair to the Shop SupervisorQuality, Safety & CommunicationObserve all company quality and safety proceduresCommunicate and collaborate with team members in the sharing of information and solving technical issuesMaintain accurate records in the ERP system for material receipts, cut quantities, and job transactionsFollow all EH&S policies and maintain a safe, organized work environmentQualifications/Requirements:High School Diploma or GEDBasic knowledge of materials including aluminum, stainless steels, and plasticsExperience operating forklifts or other material handling equipmentBasic understanding of computers and ERP systemsStrong work ethic and high attention to detailFlexible, with the ability to work in a fast-paced team environmentCapable of handling sensitive and sometimes confidential informationGood communication skills for effective teamworkAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periodsHours: 5:45 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. Monday - ThursdayEqual Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled
