Saw OperatorNesco Resource is seeking strong candidates for a Saw Operator role with our long-time Assembly/Parts Manufacturing Client in Livonia, MI. The ideal candidate should have strong attention to detail, basic mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to workplace safety. This is a Contract-to-Hire Role.Shift: 7:00 am to 3:45 pm, Monday through Friday with possible OTPay: 22-23/hr., per level of experiencePosition SummaryThe Saw Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining saw machine equipment to accurately cut raw materials according to work orders, specifications, and quality standards.The position requires attention to detail, safe equipment operation, teamwork, and consistent adherence to work instructions.Essential ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate band saws, circular saws, and other cutting equipment.Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications.Measure, mark, and cut metal, plastic, wood, and other raw materials to specified dimensions.Inspect materials before and after cutting to confirm accuracy and review qualityPerform routine equipment maintenance, including blade changes, sharpening, adjustments, and preventive maintenanceDocument production quantities, material usage, and job information accuratelyMaintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standardsAssist other production team members as neededMeet company goals related to safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvementFollow all safety protocols and wear required PPERequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentBasic mechanical skills and knowledge of machine safetyBasic mathematical and measurement skills.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructionsAbility to use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and squaresStrong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy during repetitive tasksGood written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a manufacturing or production environmentPreferred QualificationsPrevious experience as a saw operator, machine operator, or construction backgroundExperience working with metal, plastic, wood, or similar raw materialsFamiliarity with ISO standards, quality systems, and inspection processesExperience performing basic machine maintenance and troubleshootingNesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package for our associates, which includes a MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan that encompasses Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services.
