Saw Operator/Material HandlerGE Vernova - Erlanger Service Center manufactures and repairs assemblies for steam power plants. As a Saw Operator/Material Handler you will use various machines and perform layout operations to fashion components for these assemblies. This is a 1st shift onsite position only available at our Erlanger, KY Service Center. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, with weekend work/OT as optional. Available shift is 6:45AM to 3:15PM.Job DescriptionSets-up and operate Marvel saw and ring sawResponsible for the raw material that comes in to the area. Unloading it from the roller and placing it in the correctly labeled rackMove materials to next work center after completing jobsOperate cranes, forklifts, and bevellersBasic blueprint reading – Understanding specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirementsDe-burr, grind and finish with hand tools or power-driven equipmentProduce high quality work and achieve tight tolerances to fixtures and engineered drawingsMaintain clean, organized, and safe work environment following all safety standards and requirementsPerform preventative maintenance tasks as requiredBasic QualificationsHigh School Diploma / GED1+ year of saw, press break, machining, or welding experience within a heavy industrial manufacturing settingDesired QualificationsBlueprint readingAbility to layout holes on a radiusWorking knowledge of metrology instruments (radius gauges, calipers, micrometers, ruler, and height gauge)Strong math skillsFor candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the base pay for this position is $25.00 to $28.00 USD per hour.
