Job description
SBA Loan CloserThe SBA Loan Closer is responsible for managing the closing process on SBA 7(a) loan transactions, coordinating with borrowers, SBA Relationship Managers, attorneys, title companies, and the SBA Closing Manager to ensure every loan closes accurately and on schedule.Essential Job FunctionsManage SBA 7(a) loan closings from conditional approval through funding, including ordering title, coordinating appraisals, and preparing closing checklistsReview SBA authorization documents and ensure all conditions are satisfied prior to closingPrepare and review closing packages in compliance with SBA SOP requirements and internal closing policyCoordinate directly with borrowers, attorneys, title companies, and RMs to resolve open items and schedule closingsEnsure timely funding and accurate disbursement of loan proceedsVerify that all closing documentation meets SBA and lender requirements before fundingMaintain complete and organized closing files throughout the transaction lifecycleSupport post-closing processes including SBA note registration, file delivery to servicing, and guarantee purchase documentationStay current on SBA SOP closing requirements and internal policy updatesJob RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPrior SBA 7(a) loan closing experienceKnowledge/Skills RequiredIntermediate knowledge of SBA SOP closing requirements, authorization conditions, and funding proceduresIntermediate collaboration skillsIntermediate verbal and written communication skillsIntermediate organizational skillsIntermediate customer service skillsIntermediate proficiency with loan origination systemsIntermediate proficiency with Microsoft OfficePhysical and Mental QualificationsStanding, walking, bending and stooping requiredMust be able to sit at a desk for long periods of time and use a computerMust be able to occasionally move or lift up to 10 poundsMay be asked to work supplemental hours periodicallyLimited travel required occasionally during and after business hoursHourly Pay Range: $20.50 - $35.67 per hourBenefits: Eligible associates may participate in Carter Bank's benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, other voluntary benefits, 401(k), paid time off, and paid holidays.
