Job TitleThe selected candidate will work as part of a team installing and assembling shipboard communication systems.Duties and Responsibilities:Assembling or installing equipment or parts requiring simple wiring, soldering, or connecting.Assembling multi pin connectors and radio frequency connections from drawings or data sheets.Performing tests on new and existing connections using multi meter and continuity testing using drawings or procedures as a reference.Pay Information:The hourly rate is set by the Department of labor and is not negotiable. Current rate is $22.24 (Tech II) / $24.87 (Tech III). Job leveling will be determined after the interview.This position is located in Chesapeake, VA. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to Chesapeake, VA or surrounding areas.Required Education, Experience, & Skills:High school diploma and at least 1 year of related experienceAbility to use hand and power toolsAbility to follow basic technical instructionsUnderstanding of basic electrical systemsFamiliarity with Microsoft officeWillingness to travel as required (at least 25%) and work in a shipyard environmentAbility to lift at least 50 lbs.Ability and willingness to wear all required PPE and work at heights requiring fall protection equipmentAbility and willingness to work as a teamPreferred Education, Experience, & Skills:Knowledge of EMP conduit assemblyAbility to perform basic electrical testing using a multimeterMulti-pin connector building experienceRF cable building experienceUS Navy backgroundEmployee Benefits:At BAE Systems, we support our employees in all aspects of their life, including their health and financial well-being.
