Job description
Champ Landfill is seeking a dependable and customer-focused Scale Clerk to join our team in Maryland Heights, Missouri.
This is a fast-paced position that plays a vital role in daily landfill operations by accurately weighing customers in and out, processing transactions, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with computer systems, including Excel and WasteWorks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Greet customers, drivers, and visitors in a professional and friendly manner.
Accurately weigh inbound and outbound vehicles using the scale system.
Process cash, credit card, and account transactions while maintaining accurate records.
Provide excellent customer service and efficiently handle a high volume of customer interactions.
Utilize Microsoft Excel and WasteWorks software to enter, track, and maintain operational data.
Answer phones and assist customers with questions regarding landfill services, pricing, and procedures.
Balance cash drawers and reconcile daily transactions.
Perform end-of-day closing procedures, including reporting and documentation.
Ensure all cash, checks, and other forms of payment are secured and accurately accounted for.
Maintain organized files and records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Work closely with site operations personnel to support efficient daily landfill operations.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience in customer service, cashiering, administrative support, or scale house operations preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general computer applications.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Dependable, punctual, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.
