Job description
Make a meaningful impact supporting students' learning and development by utilizing your expertise as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in a welcoming school environment. As a vital part of the therapeutic team, you'll work closely with licensed Occupational Therapists, educators, and families to help students achieve their goals and thrive in the classroom.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
Valid state license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
Minimum of one year of recent experience - school or pediatric setting preferred
Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
Commitment to ongoing professional development and meeting state/district continuing education requirements
Key Responsibilities: Support the delivery of effective occupational therapy services under the direction of a licensed OT
Implement activities and interventions tailored to students' educational and developmental needs
Monitor progress, document outcomes, and assist the OT in updating treatment plans
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to optimize student success
Keep thorough records and meet all state and district standards for compliance
Engage in professional growth and remain updated on best practices
