Job description
Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supporting students in a dynamic educational setting near Knoxville, TN. Desired Skills and Experience:
Valid COTA certification and current state licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
Previous experience in a school setting preferred, though not required
Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
Compassionate, patient, and creative approach to working with children of diverse backgrounds and abilities
Familiarity with IEPs and ability to follow therapy plans under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
Key Responsibilities: Provide direct occupational therapy services to students as directed by the supervising OT
Collaborate with educators and other school professionals to promote student achievement
Assist in documenting therapy sessions, progress, and attendance according to school and legal requirements
Support the development and execution of individualized education programs (IEPs)
Adapt therapeutic activities to meet each student's unique needs and goals
Promote engagement, independence, and participation in the educational environment
