Job description
Embrace an exciting contract opportunity making a difference in the lives of students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) near Virginia Beach, VA. Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid COTA certification and active licensure (or eligibility) in Virginia
Experience or enthusiasm for working within school-based settings
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with educators, families, and students
Adaptable, compassionate, and team-oriented approach to achieving positive student outcomes
Prior pediatric or school experience preferred, but open to enthusiastic new graduates
Key Responsibilities: Implement evidence-based occupational therapy plans under the supervision of a licensed OT
Support students with IEP-related goals, focusing on fine motor skills, daily living activities, and classroom participation
Document progress, maintain accurate records, and contribute to IEP meetings as needed
Communicate with families and school staff regarding student progress and needs
Assist in developing and adapting materials or activities to enhance student independence and participation
Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices
