Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is looking to hire a Registered Nurse . Join our team today and help us continue our mission to positively impact the lives of children and communities across the nation!

n nSCHOOL NURSE RESPONSIBILITIES
nnProvide direct, individualized nursing care to one student throughout the school day.
nMonitor the student's ongoing medical status (respiratory, seizure activity, blood glucose, vitals, etc.) and respond promptly to changes.
nAdminister medications, treatments, and procedures according to the student's care plan (e.g., trach care, suctioning, tube feeding, catheterization).
nMaintain continuous supervision to ensure safety during class, transitions, lunch, recess, and specials.
nDocument all care provided and communicate updates to families, school staff, and district nursing leadership .
nFollow the student's Individualized Healthcare Plan (IHP) and Emergency Action Plan, including readiness to respond to medical emergencies.
nSupport the student during transportation , if required (bus nurse).
nCollaborate with teachers and school staff to ensure the student can access instruction safely .
nMaintain all equipment and supplies needed for daily care and ensure they are clean, functional, and available .
nUphold confidentiality and adhere to school, district, and state nursing guidelines .
n nSCHOOL NURSE QUALIFICATIONS
nnBachelor's Degree in Nursing.
nHas obtained or is eligible for an endorsement as a School Nurse as prescribed in the bylaws of the State Department of Education.
nExperience or specialized training in the field of pediatric mental health is preferred.
nAbility to work independently and maintain ethical and accountability standards.
nDemonstrates interpersonal skills, and communicates effectively and courteously both verbally and in writing.
nHas the ability to coordinate activities and work effectively with professional staff, support staff, parents, and representatives from agencies outside the school system.
