Job description
Step into a vital role supporting student health in a school-based setting as an experienced Registered Nurse. This contract position, located near Cheyenne, WY, offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on children's well-being while working in a dynamic educational environment.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Current RN license, valid in the state of Wyoming (or eligibility to obtain before start date)
Prior experience in school nursing or pediatric care strongly preferred
Thorough understanding of common childhood illnesses, medication administration, and chronic condition management
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and staff
Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond calmly in stressful situations
Current CPR and First Aid certification
Core Responsibilities: Deliver direct nursing care to students with acute and chronic health conditions
Administer prescribed medications in accordance with school policies
Provide health assessments and screenings
Collaborate closely with educators, families, and allied health professionals
Maintain accurate health records and documentation
Participate in IEP/504 meetings as a medical resource
Serve as a health advocate, promoting wellness and educating on preventative strategies
