Job description
Make a meaningful difference by providing individualized care to a student in a vibrant educational setting. This contract role is ideal for a skilled RN who excels in a school environment and enjoys forming supportive relationships with students. Work closely with one student, offering expert medical attention while collaborating with school staff and families.
Key Qualifications:
Active RN license in the state
Prior experience in school nursing, pediatric care, or 1:1 student support preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of seizure care protocols and emergency response
Adaptability, excellent communication skills, and a caring, patient manner
Role Responsibilities: Deliver dedicated 1:1 nursing care for a student during scheduled school hours (Wednesdays and Fridays, 7:30am - 2:00pm)
Monitor and assist the student within the classroom, during community outings, and at work activities, ensuring their safety and well-being
Remain vigilant for changes in the student's health status and respond swiftly in the event of a seizure or medical emergency, following established protocols
Collaborate with school teams to support the student's inclusion and participation in all activities
Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of care provided and communicate effectively with caregivers and educational staff
