Job description
Experience a unique opportunity to positively impact a student's life as a Transportation Nurse supporting local school communities northwest of Pittsburgh. This rewarding contract assignment runs through June 2027 and centers on providing essential care and a reassuring presence for a student during daily bus transportation. Both RNs and LPNs are encouraged to apply.
Your day will begin and end at the district transportation office, ensuring safe transit for the student each morning and afternoon. Morning shifts run from 7-10am, with afternoons from 2-5pm, totaling approximately 5-6 hours per day-perfect for those seeking a split shift schedule with midday flexibility.
Qualifications and Experience
Active RN or LPN licensure in Pennsylvania
Current Pennsylvania school clearances, or willingness to obtain them prior to starting
Capable of providing both clinical care and emotional support in a transportation setting
Previous experience in school health is an asset, but not mandatory
Compassionate, reliable, and able to adapt in a student-focused environment
Primary Responsibilities Accompany a student on the school bus to and from school, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
Remain alert and prepared to administer care during transport, as necessary
Communicate clearly and effectively with transportation and school staff
Provide daily documentation and maintain confidentiality
Participate in necessary training or meetings as directed
