Job description
School Nurse Opportunity
Step into a dynamic school environment and make a tangible difference in the lives of students as a dedicated Registered Nurse. This district-wide, full-time contract opportunity offers the chance to provide essential nursing care and leadership across school buildings, with a consistent week-day schedule from 8:15AM to 3:15PM, totaling 35 hours per week. Two positions are available, starting as soon as possible and extending through June 25, 2027.
Key Qualifications:
Active and valid School Nursing NJ RN license required
Prior school-based nursing experience is essential
Comfortable navigating and serving various district locations
Ability to effectively service a diverse caseload
Skilled in overseeing the health needs of entire school buildings
Strong organizational and communication abilities
Reliable transportation and readiness for manageable daily commutes
Must complete onboarding steps: TB test, physical, and fingerprints for both agency and district
LPN licensure is not eligible for this position
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and preventive nursing care to students
Respond promptly to health emergencies and collaborate with school staff
Maintain up-to-date health records, manage medication administration, and develop health plans
Educate students, families, and staff on health topics and best practices
Liaise with parents, teachers, and district representatives to advocate for student wellness
Monitor and manage public health concerns within the school setting

Compensation for this position ranges from $32.00 to $52.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here.
