Per Diem Registered Nurse
Bring your nursing expertise to an educational setting and help shape the next generation of healthcare professionals as a per diem Registered Nurse working with high school students enrolled in Certified Nurse Assisting (CNA) programs. This contract role offers a chance to supervise and mentor students during their on-the-job clinical training, providing critical support when teachers are absent and ensuring a safe, enriching learning environment. The assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through the full school year, with hours typically from 8 to 10 am and 12 to 2 pm, making it an ideal fit for someone seeking flexibility.
Key Qualifications:
Current New York State RN license
Meets or exceeds the requirements for the Civil Service title of School Nurse
Recent experience in long-term care or nursing home settings
Passion for working with and mentoring high school students interested in healthcare
Strong communication and organizational skills
Core Responsibilities:
Supervise up to 8 students at a time during clinical sessions in the Nurse Assisting (Nurse Aide) course
Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop valid and effective clinical experiences
Coordinate and create instruction schedules for trainees
Serve as a liaison with partner agencies to facilitate high-quality clinical placements
Continually assess and evaluate student progress during clinical rotations
Support the Nurse Aide Teacher with a variety of related duties as needed

Compensation for this position ranges from $33.22 to $53.22. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
