Job description
Step into a vital role supporting elementary students as a Social Worker on a contract basis for a maternity leave coverage from November to December 2026. This opportunity is centered near Grand Blanc, MI and focuses on creating a positive impact during the school year 26/27, working with young learners at two elementary schools. The weekly commitment is 37.5 hours, allowing you to fully immerse in both Schickler Elementary and Lynch Elementary settings.
Key Qualifications:
Hold an active licensure or certification for school-based social work in Michigan
Demonstrated experience providing social work services within school environments
Familiarity with elementary student populations and age-appropriate interventions
Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
Excellent organizational and documentation abilities
Adaptable and responsive to varying caseload requirements
Responsibilities: Deliver targeted social work interventions to support student social, emotional, and academic development
Conduct individual and group counseling sessions as needed
Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement student support plans
Provide crisis intervention and resources to students experiencing personal or family challenges
Maintain thorough records, progress notes, and required documentation
Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment
