Job description
Embark on a meaningful opportunity to make a difference, supporting students as a School Social Worker on a contract basis. In this full-time, full school year (FSY) position, you will play a vital role in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment near Muskegon, MI.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution
Valid State of Michigan School Social Worker license or eligibility
Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to develop effective intervention plans in collaboration with educators and families
Solid understanding of child and adolescent development
Key Responsibilities: Provide individual and group counseling to students to support their social, emotional, and behavioral growth
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to address barriers to learning
Conduct assessments and develop individualized intervention strategies
Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to support students with special needs
Maintain thorough documentation and adhere to ethical and confidentiality standards
Offer crisis intervention and ongoing support as needed
Facilitate referrals to community resources and support services
