Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students' growth and well-being as a part-time School Social Worker. Based near Plainwell, MI, this flexible role is ideal for those passionate about fostering positive impacts in educational settings and seeking a dynamic arrangement open to both onsite and virtual modalities.
You'll provide center-based services, working with a diverse group of approximately 20-25 students, primarily aged 7 to 15, spanning 2nd grade through junior year. The position offers flexibility-expect about 20 to 25 hours across 2 to 3 days per week, with scheduling options tailored to your availability.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Michigan 310 School Social Worker Certification required
Previous experience in a school or equivalent youth-focused setting preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, comfortable collaborating with students, faculty, and families
Adaptable to varying student needs and open to both in-person and virtual service delivery
Passion for supporting the social, emotional, and academic success of young learners
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling sessions addressing students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs
Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to create and carry out intervention strategies
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student support plans
Maintain thorough documentation and adhere to compliance standards
Serve as a resource and advocate for students, helping to bridge school and community resources
