Job description
Make a meaningful impact supporting K-12 students in a vibrant special education environment by utilizing your expertise as a School Social Worker. This contract opportunity runs from ASAP through June 11, 2026, and is entirely onsite at a district serving students across multiple grade levels. You'll play a vital role in fostering academic, social, and emotional growth, collaborating with dedicated professionals in a setting committed to student well-being.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid Michigan School Social Worker certification (310). Please be ready to provide a copy of your certification when applying, or have supervision arrangements in place if you do not currently hold the certificate.
Proven experience supporting K-12 students, particularly in a special education context.
Ability to build strong, positive relationships with students, teachers, and families.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Flexibility to adapt to the needs of a diverse student population.
Willingness and ability to work exclusively onsite for the duration of the assignment.
Key Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive social work services to K-12 students in accordance with IEP requirements and district guidelines.
Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized interventions.
Assess student needs through interviews, observations, and collaboration with staff to support academic and emotional success.
Maintain accurate documentation and case notes as required.
Serve as a resource for crisis intervention and behavioral support.
