Job description
Step into a rewarding role supporting students' communication and language development across two elementary schools and one middle school. This full-time, in-person, contract opportunity is perfect for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) passionate about making a difference in an educational environment. The position is available immediately and continues through the full school year, with a schedule likely running from 7:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. You'll spend three days each week at one location, with the remaining two days divided between the other schools.
Key Qualifications:
Valid, active SLPA license or certification
Previous experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred
Solid understanding of speech and language therapy practices for K-8 students
Ability to collaborate with supervising Speech-Language Pathologists and teachers
Excellent communication, organizational, and record-keeping skills
Flexibility and eagerness to adapt to differing school environments and student needs
Role Responsibilities: Provide direct therapy services under the supervision of an SLP, following students' IEPs
Support students with articulation, language, and social communication
Prepare materials, assist with assessments, and track data for progress monitoring
Attend team meetings and communicate regularly with staff and families
Adapt therapy strategies to accommodate diverse learners across multiple campuses
Maintain accurate documentation as required by school and state guidelines
