Job description

Therapist – Group & Individual Therapy

Location: Withamsville-Tobasco Elementary School, Cincinnati, Ohio

Best Point Education & Behavioral Health is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and mission-driven Therapist to support youth and families through a combination of Day Treatment programming and individual therapy services. This role follows a school schedule with school breaks off.

This position provides an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by delivering individual and group therapy, supporting behavioral and emotional development, responding to crisis situations, and helping children achieve their treatment goals in a school-based environment.

The Therapist plays a critical role in creating a safe, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and client-centered environment. This position works closely with families, school personnel, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care, monitor progress, and ensure high-quality clinical services.

Key Responsibilities

Direct Client Services

Build and maintain strong therapeutic relationships with children and families.

Facilitate structured group therapy using evidence-based interventions within the Day Treatment program.

Provide individual therapy services based on client treatment goals, clinical needs, and identified strengths.

Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.

Implement Behavioral Support Plans (BSPs) and appropriate therapeutic interventions.

Utilize CPI and de-escalation strategies during crisis situations.

Monitor client progress and adjust interventions as clinically appropriate.

Maintain accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.

Collaboration & Communication

Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, caregivers, and school personnel.

Participate in weekly clinical supervision, case consultation, and treatment team meetings.

Collaborate with internal and external providers to coordinate client care.

Partner with multidisciplinary teams to support client, program, and organizational goals.

Build and maintain positive professional relationships with school and community partners.

Quality & Compliance

Utilize clinical and program outcome data to inform treatment decisions and monitor client progress.

Maintain compliance with agency policies, professional licensure requirements, billing regulations, HIPAA, and ethical standards.

Complete all required trainings and maintain applicable certifications.

Documentation & Administrative Responsibilities

Complete clinical documentation and billing accurately and within established timelines.

Utilize Credible reports and data tools to monitor client outcomes and performance metrics.

Ensure therapy and group spaces remain organized, safe, and properly supplied.

Complete other administrative and program responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Active LSW, LISW, LPC, or LPCC license in the State of Ohio.

Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.

Experience working in office, school, and/or mental health treatment settings.

Experience working with children, adolescents, and families.

Experience facilitating therapeutic groups and providing individual counseling services.

Ability to implement behavior modification strategies and therapeutic interventions.

Strong clinical judgment, assessment, communication, and documentation skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced therapeutic environment serving youth.

Commitment to trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and client-centered care.

Ability to respond calmly and effectively to crisis situations.

Compensation & Benefits

Starting salary: $46,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience. Includes school breaks off, working a 10-month schedule.

Work Environment

This position works across school and mental health treatment environments and involves direct interaction with children experiencing behavioral, emotional, and mental health challenges.

Employees may be exposed to shouting and clients who demonstrate verbal or physical aggression. The position may also involve exposure to blood, vomit, and other bodily fluids. Employees are expected to maintain a calm, professional, therapeutic, and safety-focused approach when responding to challenging behaviors and crisis situations.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

The position regularly requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Employees must be capable of sustained physical exertion and able to participate in required physical restraint techniques and exercises to ensure client safety.
