The Institute of Living, one of the first mental health centers in the U.S., remains one of America’s leading not-for-profit centers for patient care, research and education in the fields of behavioral, psychiatric and addiction disorder. Through our dedicated, experienced and skilled clinicians, we provide patients and their families with the highest quality of personalized care. Programs are offered for children, adolescents and adults struggling with mental illness as well as offering services specializing in Anxiety, Eating Disorders, and Geriatric Services.
The School Clinician assumes a caseload and provides therapeutic clinical support (individual and/or group counseling, crisis intervention) for students enrolled in a school program. The School Clinician also provides support to the student’s family by providing assessment, coordinating required resources, and working with other health care team members. The School Clinician may also collaborate with public school system to deliver IEP (Individual Education Plan) services.
Qualifications
Minimum requirements
Master’s Degree in Social Work, or Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy or Related Human Service Field .
Previous experience in a healthcare setting.
LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or Psychologist.
Current Certification as CT State Department of Education (school psychologist, school social worker, school counselor or equivalent certification) or eligible to meet this requirement within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
3 years Clinical training or work in a therapeutic school environment.
Valid Driver's License.
Bilingual in Spanish/English
