Job description
School Counselor - Dearborn, Michigan
Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as a school-based Counselor on a contract assignment near Dearborn, MI. This important, onsite position runs from October to December 2026 and provides an excellent opportunity to work with a diverse K-12 caseload. Engage in a supportive educational environment where your expertise as a Counselor will foster students' emotional well-being and personal growth.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Counselor License
Active Educator Certification
Previous experience working with K-12 students is highly desirable
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and support staff
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in counseling
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling services to K-12 students
Develop and implement programs addressing academic, social, and emotional needs
Consult with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success
Conduct assessments and create intervention plans when needed
Maintain accurate records and document all services provided
Support crisis intervention efforts as necessary
Advocate for student needs and ensure access to appropriate resources
