Job description

This contract position supports young learners by guiding their academic development, social-emotional growth, and career awareness. Key Qualifications and Skills:
Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
Completion of a state-approved counselor preparation program
Ability to secure the required Virginia counseling license or endorsement as specified by the district
Strong understanding of academic, career, and social-emotional counseling frameworks
Excellent communication, organization, and confidentiality skills
Experience working with elementary-aged children in a school setting is a plus
Primary Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive counseling services to elementary students, addressing academic, career, and personal/social needs
Conduct assessments to identify student strengths, needs, and progress
Collaborate with school staff and families to develop effective support plans
Offer consultations, interventions, and referrals as needed
Maintain accurate student records, ensuring confidentiality at all times
Support the creation of a safe, inclusive, and engaging school climate
This is a full-time contract position with a schedule of 37.5 hours per week, beginning as soon as possible and extending through May 2027. Details about specific caseloads will be provided during the hiring process.
