nThe School Counselor/School Mental Health Worker provides individual and group counseling to students experiencing emotional, behavioral, or social challenges. The School Counselor/School Mental Health Worker supports students in developing coping strategies, improving emotional regulation, and enhancing overall mental well-being. In collaboration with families, teachers, and other school staff, they help create a safe and supportive learning environment, facilitate referrals to community-based mental health services when needed, and contribute to the development of school-wide mental health initiatives.
nMinimum Requirements:
nnnLicensing/Certification according to state/facility/contractrequirement
n
nnThe Counselor may be required to have an Associate's Degree,Bachelor's Degree or Masters in Psychology, Addictions, Sociology, Social Work,Counseling, Nursing, or some other Human Development major per state, contract and/or facilityguidelines.
n
nnComplies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
n
nnCurrent CPR if applicable
n
nnTB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
n
nnCurrent Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
n
nnMust meet all federal, state and local requirements
n
nnMust be at least 18 years of age
