Job Summary/ScopeWilson is a city of around 50,000 people located in the heart of eastern North Carolina. The purpose of this position is to perform routine part-time support services directing traffic in conjunction with the moving of children to and from school.Job ResponsibilitiesMajor DutiesControls vehicular traffic at designated crossing to allow children to cross safely; Controls children using the crossing to assure that they conform to traffic regulations;Takes appropriate action with children who fail to cooperate and reports such action to immediate supervisor;Reports motorists who fail to observe safe motor vehicle operation in school crossing zone.Supervisory/Management ResponsibilityNoneMinimum QualificationsEducation/Experience RequirementsAny combination and education and experience equivalent to completion of the eleventh grade.Knowledge RequirementsSome knowledge of traffic regulations;Some knowledge of school locations and traffic patterns;Ability and willingness to work in inclement weather through-out the year;Ability to follow oral and written instructions; dependability; courtesy.Work Environment/Physical DemandsThe work is performed outside while standing and walking.BenefitsThis is a temporary part-time position and there are no benefits designated for such.
