Job Overview – Licensed School Counselor (LCSW/LMHC)
Compensation:
$68 – $76/hour
Location: Queens, NY
Schedule: Full-Time, Part-Time, or Per Diem (School Schedule)
TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Licensed School Counselor (LCSW or LMHC) in Queens, NY to support students in school-based counseling and mental health settings for the current school year. You will provide individual and group counseling, support IEP-aligned goals, and help students build social, emotional, and behavioral skills for classroom success.
Responsibilities as the Licensed School Counselor:
Counseling Support: Provide individual and group counseling services to students with social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs.
Student Development: Support students with coping skills, emotional regulation, peer relationships, and classroom readiness.
IEP & Care Coordination: Collaborate with school teams, providers, and families to support IEP goals, intervention plans, and student progress.
Qualifications for the Licensed School Counselor:
Education:
Master’s degree in School Counseling, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field is required.
Licensure: Active New York State LCSW or LMHC is required .
Certification: New York State School Counselor certification is preferred.
Experience: Prior school-based counseling, student support, behavioral health, or mental health experience is preferred.
