Job description
School Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse) - Nicholson, PA
Step into a vital and rewarding role supporting a student's daily health and educational journey. This contract opportunity offers the chance to provide dedicated one-on-one care for a 15-year-old female student who uses a wheelchair and requires g-tube, tracheostomy, and ventilator management. You'll play a crucial part in her well-being and school experience, working full time at a single school location.
Key Qualifications:
Active Pennsylvania LPN or RN license required
Previous experience in pediatric, school, or 1:1 care preferred
Comfortable with g-tube feedings, tracheostomy care, and ventilator support
Compassionate communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and reliably during school hours
Reliable transportation; ability to assist with transportation is a strong plus
Responsibilities:
Provide continuous 1:1 nursing support throughout the school day
Oversee g-tube nutrition, trache care, and ventilator management
Monitor and promptly respond to changes in student's health status
Document care and maintain accurate records in compliance with school policies
Collaborate with educational staff, parents, and district health professionals
Support transportation needs if part of the assignment
Position Details:
Full time: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am 2:30 pm; transportation role 7:15 am 3:15 pm
Single school assignment, ensuring continuity of care
Immediate start available; ongoing assignment based on school year
