Job description
Make a real difference supporting students in an educational setting as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN). Desired qualifications and experience:
Current and unrestricted LPN/LVN license in the state or ability to obtain
Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting highly preferred
Strong clinical assessment skills and a solid foundation in routine nursing procedures
Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families from diverse backgrounds
Confidence in responding to common student health needs, emergencies, and medication administration
Proficiency in maintaining accurate documentation and following privacy requirements
Primary responsibilities: Offer quality direct care to students with acute needs, chronic conditions, or medication requirements during the school day
Respond promptly to emergency situations and administer first aid as needed
Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and health staff to provide individualized health plans for students
Maintain detailed and confidential health records according to school and state guidelines
Educate students and staff on hygiene, medication protocols, and general health practices
Support communication between the school and families regarding health matters
