nLocation: Bennington, VT
nDuration: 3+ month contract
nSchedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am -3pm
nPay rate range: $27.88 - 30.00/hour
nSUMMARY / PURPOSE
nAssist the school nurse in maintaining an optimum level of physical, social, and emotional health for students.
nQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

nEducation and/or Experience
nnnOne or more years of post-secondary education at an accredited school for LPNs.
n
nnValid Vermont Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
n
nnCurrent CPR certification .
n
nnTwo years of recent clinical or school nursing experience.
n
nnAbility to administer medications in accordance with the Vermont State Nurse Practice Act .
n
n nLanguage Skills
nnnAbility to read and interpret procedures, policies, regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
n
nnAbility to write routine reports and correspondence.
n
nnAbility to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from supervisors, staff, and the public.
n
n nMathematical Skills
nnnAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
n
nnAbility to perform mathematical operations using American money and weight, volume, and distance measurements.
n
n nReasoning Ability
nnnAbility to solve practical problems and manage a variety of non-standard situations.
n
nnAbility to interpret instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
n
n nCERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS
nnnVermont LPN License
n
nnFirst Aid certification or related experience
n
nnCurrent CPR certification
n
n nOTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES
nnExperience using office machines and standard office equipment.
n nESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
nnnAssist the school nurse in providing and maintaining student health services.
n
nnMaintain appropriate student health records, including:
n
nnImmunization records
n
nnDaily health logs
n
nnSupport the physical, social, and emotional health needs of students.
n
nnPerform duties within the scope of the Vermont State Nurse Practice Act.
n
nnAdminister medications as authorized and required.
n
nnCommunicate effectively with the school nurse, staff, students, and families.
n
nnFollow established health, safety, and school policies and procedures.
n
nnComplete required documentation and routine reports.

nPay Details: $28.00 to $30.00 per hour
