nAMN Healthcare is partnering with a Newark, DE school district to hire a qualified Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to work with one of the top districts in the area, providing services to children of all ages. Generally, the COTA will address motor skills, sensory processing, and cognitive functions that impact a student's academics, self-care skills, play, and social participation, as well as transitional skills.nnResponsibilities for this role include: nnPartner with the district as a member of a collaborative team to help students achieve their academic goals.nScreen and evaluate students referred to Occupational Therapy services. nAppropriately collect data and report findings.nProvide evidence-based direct and consultative therapy services as required.nMaintain accurate documentation and billing per district and state standards. nThe COTA will provide training and resources for teachers and staff on effective strategies to improve participation and progress toward educational goals.nParticipate in a collaborative team and maintain clear communication with teachers, district staff, and families regarding student performance. nnn
Required Qualifications
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, SchoolnnCompletion of an associate’s degree or higher education
Active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in DE
(Some States) Completion of the Substantial Equivalency Assessment (SEA)

Preferred Qualifications
Clear, articulate communication skills
Ability to explain results to a varied audience
Candidates with previous school experience a plus!
Completion of a criminal record and background check
