Job description
School Occupational Therapist Assistant
School Occupational Therapist Assistant supporting students in a school setting to improve functional outcomes. This 36-week contract in Surprise, AZ offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with occupational therapy team to develop and implement individualized therapy plans
Assist in facilitating therapeutic activities to enhance students' functional outcomes
Monitor and document students' progress, reporting findings to supervising therapists
Support classroom teachers and school staff in integrating therapeutic strategies
Ensure a safe and supportive environment for students during therapy sessions and throughout the school day
Qualifications:
A.A. degree or higher in Occupational Therapy Assistance or equivalent (or transcripts with 60+ credits)
Valid license issued by Arizona Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners as an OTA/L
Valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints Fingerprint Clearance Card
Valid driver's license
Social Security Card
Minimum 1 year experience as an OTA
Knowledge of school-based therapeutic practices
Ability to work with children in a school setting
Excellent communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Must obtain and maintain all state-mandated licensure and clearances
Background checks, compliance with facility standards, and professional liability insurance may be required
