Job description
If you're passionate about supporting students' growth and helping them overcome challenges, this contract opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist may be ideal for you! You'll work closely with educators, families, and a supportive multidisciplinary team to empower students in reaching their potential within an inclusive learning environment.
Key Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
Current OT license in Maryland (or eligibility)
Previous experience as a school-based OT or in a pediatric clinical setting preferred
Strong collaborative skills for working with teachers, administrators, and parents
Excellent communication and documentation abilities
Adaptable, compassionate, and resourceful approach to therapy
Primary Responsibilities: Conduct evaluations to determine students' needs in areas such as fine/gross motor skills, sensory processing, or activities of daily living
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans supporting educational goals
Participate in IEP meetings, providing recommendations and progress updates
Deliver direct and consultative OT services to students in classrooms or one-on-one settings
Maintain thorough records that comply with school and state guidelines
Collaborate with staff to modify classroom materials and approaches for student accessibility
