Job description
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity providing Occupational Therapy support to students ranging from late elementary through high school. This dynamic role begins with part-time hours (1-2 days per week), transitioning to a full-time schedule (Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm) when a team member goes on maternity leave in October 2026. The assignment extends through January 2027, aligning with the anticipated return-to-work date.
Leverage your expertise across school-based, home health, healthcare, and teletherapy settings to help a diverse caseload-currently about 21 students, with roughly 30 therapy sessions per week. You'll engage students working on a variety of goals including self-help skills (buttoning, zippering), life skills, higher-level pre-vocational abilities, handwriting, fine motor tasks like cutting, shoe tying, and personal hygiene. All schedules are prearranged, with clear note sheets outlining individualized student goals.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Valid Occupational Therapy licensure with eligibility to practice in the state
Experience in school settings, home health, healthcare, and/or teletherapy environments
Understanding of IEP processes and ability to manage shifting caseloads
Strong communication skills for collaboration with staff, parents, and students
Competence in guiding students toward both short- and long-term therapeutic goals
Key Responsibilities: Deliver targeted OT interventions according to set schedules and student needs
Adapt session plans for new IEPs or adjusted caseloads as necessary
Track and document progress toward individual educational and therapeutic objectives
Support students in developing self-care, life skills, and pre-vocational abilities
Collaborate closely with educational teams and families
